WE CARE ABOUT YOUR SUCCESS

Indiana State University is invested in the success of all of its students. Through the Student Academic Services Center, ISU provides peer tutoring, academic advisement, academic counseling, supplemental instruction programs, and extended orientation (University 101: Learning in the University Community).

The Student Academic Services Center is located on the second floor of Gillum Hall and is regularly open from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. However, tutoring programs and supplemental instruction sessions are held in the evening and over the weekend as necessary. There is no charge for tutoring services or supplemental instruction.

In addition, ISU conducts regular reviews of the progress of its students to assess the retention, attrition, and graduation rates. The University also has its first year students take the MAP-Works assessment tool to make early identification of any student concerns such as general areas include students’ level of preparedness for college, study skills, and time management. In addition, MAP-Works helps identify whether students may have concerns about homesickness, college friendships, and roommate relationships. The information gathered from the surveys are shared on a confidential basis with instructors of first-year courses, academic advisors, and residential life staff so that may work with the students and identify resources available to further assist them with their academic and personal concerns.

The information below is also provided to facilitate Indiana State University’s compliance with the Higher Education Act of 1965.
