New Student Transition Programs
The Office of New Student Transition Programs (NSTP) coordinates New Student Orientation for all first-year and transfer, domestic and international students as well as Commuter Services, with a concentration on the transition of new students to Indiana State University. The office also provides oversight of Fall and Spring Welcome and, in collaboration with other campus units, events such as Move-In, University Welcome and Convocation, March through the Arch, and Taste of Terre Haute.
New Student Orientation
Congratulations on your admission to Indiana State University. Part of becoming a Sycamore is to attend New Student Orientation. Orientation provides students with information on campus resources, introduces them to current students, their academic advisor, and serves as the method to scheduling classes for the first semester. All new freshmen and transfer (domestic and international) students are required to attend Orientation. A fee will be assessed on the student’s first e-bill. Students enrolled in any online-only major or program do not have to attend orientation.
Fall Welcome 2015 is August 16th – 22nd!
Fall Welcome kicks off another year at Indiana State University, and whether you're a returning or new student, we encourage you to experience as much as possible. As a new student, getting connected and involved on campus is a great way to feel at home. There are events each day from which to choose, so get out there and get to know campus, your new friends, and your new home a bit better!
Events to look forward to are Convocation, March through the Arch, Sycamore Sunday, the Student Organization Expo, Taste of Terre Haute, The Color Run, and so much more! Check back this summer for full details on Fall Welcome.
