This exploration of world art techniques prepares the beginning artist to explore art from diverse perspectives. Students use Sumi-e brushstrokes to create a small book of animals and characters. Traveling through a virtual tour, students see the great Stonehenge and create their own post and lintel structures using assorted materials. Natural elements such as rocks and leaves will become painting surfaces when students create Aboriginal Australian dot paintings. The tour will end with a French Impressionist painting lesson inspired by Claude Monet.
