This camp is designed for children who are considering starting piano lessons. No experience is required! Throughout the week, students use songs, games and hands-on activities to learn musical basics that prepare them for piano lessons. To learn about the concepts of beat and rhythm, children make their own percussion instruments and participate in group music-making. A variety of different song- and motion-based games and activities are used to learn about pitch. The basics of music notation and the piano keyboard are also taught in a fun, game-based format. This class is for students who are ready to learn about music and have FUN! The week culminates with a demonstration for friends and family.
