The Indiana State University Sycamore Outdoor Center (SOC) is a multi-use outdoor facility designed to accommodate educational and recreational programs for campus groups and the community at large. The SOC is 80 acres of woods, trails and lakes approximately 18 miles east of Terre Haute, IN. It is administered through the Department of Kinesiology, Recreation and Sport. The campus consists of eight lakes, which are fed through an underground water supply and covers 42 acres, and several acres of wooded area. The SOC also houses our Keystone Adventure Program and includes a variety of challenge course and group initiative activities provided by trained facilitators through our department. In addition, cabins, platform tents and a full-sized classroom makes the Indiana State University Sycamore Outdoor Center a popular destination for a variety of groups.

  • Bayh College students to explore Ireland, England

    The 14-day trip, May 10-23, to Dublin, Belfast and London will include 20 students and four faculty members, including Kathryn Bauserman and Pat Wheeler, who are both professors of elementary, early, and special education in the Bayh College of Education.
