Athletic Training Services

Welcome to Indiana State University Athletic Training Services.  Indiana State University’s rich tradition of Athletic Training began in 1962 when Mel Blickenstaff served as the University’s first Athletic Trainer.  Along with providing state of the art patient care to the University’s student athletes, ISU has also become nationally renowned for its undergraduate and graduate Athletic Training Education Programs.  In addition to providing one of the first education programs in Athletic Training (first approved in 1970), ISU was the first program to graduate a woman in the profession. In the classroom or in the clinic, ISU is proud of its long tradition of service and education and continues to provide the most up-to-date care grounded in sound medical evidence.
