MARGARITA NEMCHUK, GR ’18

Thursday, September 6, 2018 - 10:53

A graduate student in linguistics/teaching English as a second language from Novokuznetsk, Russia, Margarita Nemchuk would like to come back as a ’80s rock star. (Us, too!)

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

To have someone I love right next to me, my own family — and do what I love.

What is your greatest fear?

Maybe loneliness. I’m not saying living with people and arguing is better, but in some ways it’s a little better than arguing with yourself. LOL. Never really thought about it, sorry.

What trait do you like least about yourself?

I can be uncertain or not confident enough in some situations.

Which historical figure do you most identify with?

I do not think there is a historical figure I identify with, but I like people who worked hard, never gave up and believed in themselves.

Who is someone you’ve met at Indiana State you¹ll remember the rest of your life?

One of the best people at State is, of course, our administrative assistant in the LLL (languages, literatures, and linguistics) department, Nancy Blake. She is one of the most generous, kindest and helpful people I have ever met.

Which talent would you most like to have?

Nothing that I can think of. There are always things to work on to be better at something. That is what life is for — to learn.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

I believed in myself, that I can.

If you were to die and come back as a person or thing, what do you think it would be?

Some rock ‘n’ roll singer from the ’80s. I love music, singing, dancing.

What do people notice first about you?

Honestly, have no idea. Maybe, I am talkative, LOL, but whatever I say usually makes sense.

What does BLUE mean to you?

It is the ocean of opportunities and positive emotions.
