Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas G. Carter has recognized two troopers from the Indiana State Police Post in Putnamville for two decades or more of service 

Sgt. Jared Nicoson, a native of Cory, Indiana, is a 1988 graduate of Clay City High School. Nicoson earned his bachelor’s degree in criminology from Indiana State University in December of 1992.

He graduated from the 50th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in December 1993 and was appointed a trooper and assigned to the Terre Haute District, where he patrolled Vigo and Clay counties. 

In April 2009, Nicoson was promoted to the rank of sergeant and became the road sergeant for Clay County.

During his career, he has served as a member of the tactical intervention platoon, clandestine methamphetamine lab team and as field training officer coordinator.

McFadden, a native of Kosciusko, Mississippi, is a 1986 graduate of Kosciusko High School.

In December 1998, he graduated from the 56th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy and was appointed a trooper and assigned to the Putnamville District, where he patrolled Putnam County.

During his career, he has served as a member of the executive protection team, motor patrol, and he is presently assigned to Putnam County as a road trooper.
