Vincennes police chief to retire next month

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Vincennes Police Chief Bob Dunham announced his retirement effective July 13. He has served as the Vincennes Police Chief since November of 2019.

 

Dunham had also previously served as chief for 8 years under Mayor Mooney.

Sgt. Jonathan C. Hillenbrand will serve as the new Police Chief. Mayor Joe Yochum said Hillenbrand will be work with Chief Dunham over the next few weeks “to ensure a smooth transition.”

Hillenbrand has been with the Vincennes Police Department for 18 years and holds a degree in Criminology from Indiana State University with a Minor in Business Administration. He is a former detective, is a certified firearms instructor and has served as the School Resource Officer for the past three years.
