Clinical Mental Health Counseling Mission Statement

Mission Statement

The program’s philosophy is student-centered and developmentally based. It is designed to provide the highest

quality training in professional mental health service delivery. Academic and fieldwork experiences are intended

to foster a commitment to scientific investigations, to improve problem solving skills and critical thinking, and to

develop effective intervention techniques. In addition, program faculty are committed to promoting interpersonal

values which support and inform our professional relations with others. These values include compassion,

self-awareness, genuineness, a commitment to justice, and an authentic appreciation for diversity.
