Medical Leave of Absence

An illness or other medical condition may justify an interruption or reduction in a full course of study. The medical condition must be substantiated by "medical documentation from a licensed medical doctor, doctor of osteopathy, or licensed clinical psychologist." Under immigration regulations, only one year of medical leave is allowed per degree level and may be authorized in semester increments only. Like all reduced course load authorizations, a medical leave of absence must be approved by the DSO prior to the reduction in course load.

Before taking a medical leave of absence, please contact your immigration advisor at CGE.
