Writing the History of the Vigo County Home: The Process and Initial Results

The Vigo County Home, or Poor Farm as it was called throughout most of its history, conjures up all sorts of memories.  It is the stuff of local legend.  Lisa Phillips, Associate Professor of History, and Indiana State History Majors will talk about the history of the home and about the process by which they recovered information.  The presentation will compare the Vigo County Home’s History to that of institutions state and nationwide.   Please come and join them, bring your memories of the Home, and help them tell the story as accurately as possible.
