Why Does Intellectual Diversity Matter?

Georgetown University’s Center on Education and the Workforce recently released a study on the long-term value of a liberal arts education.

At the ten-year mark, the median return on investment (ROI) for a liberal arts education was significantly lower than the median for all colleges and universities, including business, engineering, and vocational schools. But after forty years—by the time liberal arts degree-holders are entering their sixties—the median ROI for liberal arts colleges was significantly higher than the median for all colleges and universities.
