Appeals

Specific information on the Appeals process may be found in Section 6.0 of the Code of Student Conduct.

Students found responsible for a violation of the Code may appeal. An appeal from any decision, either Administrative Conference or University Conduct Board, must be made in writing within five business days following the date the hearing record notification is assigned and notice is received by the student. Students may file one (1) appeal per case. In the event multiple students are involved in one case, each student pursuing an appeal must do so individually. Submitting an appeal does not guarantee a meeting with the administrator responsible for deciding the appeal outcome. For that reason, it is important all information for consideration be made clear in the written appeal.

To assist students with submitting an appeal, an online submission form has been created (Appeal Form). Please complete the appropriate form and follow the provided instructions.

Under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and the Violence Against Women’s Act, the complainant in cases of sexual violence have the identical rights as the charged student which includes the right to appeal.
